About This Product
False bottom (also known as LECA, for light expanded clay aggregate) is a great choice for the drainage layer in a vivarium. LECA is a natural product, made from heated clay. It retains moisture, provides lots of surface area for bacteria and plant roots to grow, and wicks water, which will help maintain humidity in a vivarium.
* This product can range in color from burnt orange to dark brown, almost black. *
How to Use: Rinse with dechlorinated tap water before use. Place a 2-3 inch layer as the drainage layer in a vivarium. Designed to be used with our substrate barrier and ABG to provide ideal vivarium conditions for tropical plants and dart frogs.
Warnings/Caution: Rinse before use. May contain dust.

Dusty but works
There was a ton of dust in it, however, like most leca just needs rinsed out and cleaned

EXCELLENT
The false bottom-LECA provides a “window” to monitor the water level in my dart frog’s vivarium and takes the guesswork out of watering. I especially like that this product provides humidity without excessive moisture inside. I would highly recommend all of the products suggested by the experienced folks at Josh’s who give the step by step set up on YouTube for Dart Frogs.

More than expected, but still great quality!
The bag was bigger than expected but honestly im not complaining! This leca is BEAUTIFUL and looks great! I gave it a good rinse and it was good to go.

Haven’t had much time to test it, but seems to be going well
I haven’t had these set up very long, only about a week or so. But they seem to be working well. They were very dusty and dirty so definitely rinse them well with dechlorinated water. The amount in the bag was decent. I ordered two bags and it was enough to fill the bottom of my 18x18x24 terrarium.
