Josh's Frogs Coir is made from the husks of coconut shells and can be used as an organic ingredient in many soil mixes. Its water retention properties help with sandy soils that drain quickly and can be used as a sustainable replacement for peat. Coir differs from peat in that peat has an acidic pH whereas coir has a near neutral pH. Coir also makes a great substrate to start seeds in. Here at Josh's Frogs we use coir in many of our very own soil mixes.
