Lovely plant but a bit small

I bought two of these beauties earlier this year and loved everything about them...except they were smaller than I expected. I saw the size of the pot listed in the description but somehow expected a larger plant than I received. Since the two I originally purchased were small, I bought 3 more this month. They traveled all the way to North Carolina in just 2 days and were in good shape when they arrived. I also really love the plant care sheet you include with your plant orders, explaining any issues the plants may have developed in transit and how to remedy them. It's a really nice touch. I really appreciate that your company has plants available to purchase that may be hard to obtain otherwise - with these, I looked all over the place where I live but no one had them. Thank you for helping me obtain my dream plant! :D

Extremely Small With Unestablished Root System

Unfortunately I can’t say I’m super happy or impressed with my orbifolias - I got two of them. They are super tiny and I could have dealt with that but they both have totally unestablished root systems. The roots were practically non existent - they extend only a few centimeters down from the plant and don’t touch any of the container walls at all (and the container is tiny). The unestablished root systems meant that when you try to repot, the plant kind of pops out of the soil - with 90% of the rootless soil left in the tiny pot. Also the fact that almost none of the soil was permeated and bound by the root systems of the plants - they made a huge mess with soil all over them in the shipping box. These orbifolias should not have been sold yet, they needed to remain in the nursery until they were better established and a little bigger. I will say that I got a medallion calathea in my order too and it did not have this issue - it was obviously better established with a good root system that came out of the nursery pot easily and whole. It was also bigger - more the size I was expecting the orbifolias to be and made no mess in the box it came in at all. I understand orbifolias are popular plants right now and there is a lot of demand but these really were not ready for sale. They aren’t dead and do look like they would have become lovely plants if allowed to grow up a little more before they were put through the trauma of shipping. I hope that I am able to keep them alive but with the roots like they are I’m highly concerned. I am not a calathea novice either btw. If these were allowed to grow up like the medallion calathea I got too it would have been a 5 star order but as it is unfortunately I can’t recommend them.
