So Ive had decent success with this plant so far but it requires 16+ hours of light a day and fairly high humidity as well so it may not be practical in a lot of setups, in fact I personally do not see this plant doing very well outside a controlled environment at all as it seems to visibly start to deteriorate almost immediately outside of the required conditions, which may be why this plant doesnt ship by mail all to well, but it arrived in decent enough shape. Reviews from other websites also mention a significant amount of trouble specific to shipping this plant so this maybe is something Joshfrogs should look into perhaps. Ive had pretty good results with having a small light solely for this species and a few other similar plants nearby. The tank is large enough that the light doesnt illuminate a very large area so keeping it on at night is doable to avoid completely blinding the firebelly toads in there with it. Mine are doing pretty well near a large water feature with running water so certainly a cool and unique vivarium plant to consider. Also seems to benefit from an occasional light misting. The one thing to mention in my case is that the plants seemed to shed their original leaves fairly quickly maybe adjusting to the new conditions or a lack of humidity or light during shipping. New growth was visible very quickly as well so it seems to grow fairly quickly under the right conditions. It also gets fairly bushy so I can certainly see it taking over smaller areas and terrariums. Youll likely need at least an 18 tall, in fact with a few inches of substrate it can easily hit the top. Ive yet to see any flowers but I look forward to seeing them. Despite being a little tougher to manage Id certainly recommend this plant and plan on incorporating it in future projects as it has a very unique look to it that isnt really comparable to the vast majority of available terrarium plants on this website and others as well. Generally Ive found this species to be quite uncommon to find.
