Known as Chinese Evergreens, plants from the Aglaonema genus are prized for their ease of care and lack of maintenance. They are flowering plants in the Arum family native to Asia, with their foliage also coming in a wide variety of colors and patterns, making them a plant commonly seen in offices, malls, airports, etc. Aglaonema 'Wishes' is a less common cultivar that features heavy pink splotching on its green outlined leaves. If you're looking for a plant to put a splash of color in your house or terrarium, but don't want anything high maintenance, Aglaonemas are a great choice. This plant is intolerant of cold temperatures and should be kept above 59 degrees with normal household humidity levels. Aglaonema 'Wishes' grows upright reaching a height of 3' and can tolerate low light conditions, but soil should be kept moist.

Container Gardens/Terrariums/Houseplants:

Aglaonema 'Wishes' is not recommended for terrariums due to it's large size. It will however make a great houseplant because it does well in low light, average household temperatures and humidity levels.

Vivariums/Animal Terrariums:

Plant Aglaonema 'Wishes' in the back part of the vivarium in soil/substrate. Due to it's large size, it is recommended for only the largest of vivariums. It does not like soaking wet feet but should never be allowed to dry out. Air circulation is not needed to successfully grow Aglaonema 'Wishes' in a naturalistic vivarium. Aglaonema 'Wishes' provides cover, egg laying sites and great calling perches for poison dart frogs in a naturalistic vivarium.

As good practice, Josh's Frogs recommends washing all plants thoroughly removing as much soil as possible with dechlorinated water before placing them in their final home.
