Heat Regulation

The Exo Terra® Basking Spots provide visual light combined with infrared-A (NIR) heat radiation, ideal for reptile thermoregulation. Infrared-A penetrates the skin effectively, supporting cell growth, wound healing, immune function, UV protection, and other biological processes. These basking spots help reptiles regulate body temperature, promoting optimal activity and digestion. Additionally, they emit some UVA rays, enhancing well-being and encouraging breeding behavior.

Stimulates Natural Behavior

Reptiles, as ectotherms, thermoregulate by moving between warm and cool areas. The focused beam of Exo Terra® Basking Spots creates a targeted basking site, establishing a temperature gradient for effective thermoregulation. The light and radiant heat combination mimics natural heat rays, and the colored glass design enhances heat transfer, making the Basking Spots energy efficient.
