Josh's Frogs is proud to offer Begonia 'Escargot', perfect for growing in a naturalistic vivarium. Begonia 'Escargot' is a man-made rex begonia, and has very nice green leaves with dark green veins, and is heavily ruffled.

Begonia 'Escargot' can grow into a rather tall plant, and as such should be considered a background plant, and planted in the back portion of a naturalistic vivarium in a well-draining substrate, such as ABG mix.

Begonia 'Escargot' has moderate to high light needs, although it does not appreciate standing water on it's leaves. Begonia 'Escargot' will grow into a fuller, bushier plant under bright light. Begonia 'Escargot' can tolerate low light conditions, but will generally show sparse growth and a trailing growth habit. Begonia 'Escargot' can be a very fast grower in the proper growing conditions. Begonia 'Escargot' does not require air circulation, as long as it's leaves are kept dry. In a vivarium, Begonia 'Escargot' makes a great focus plant with it's showy foliage.
