Care Notes: It’s good to let the top inch of soil dry between waterings, but alocasia do not respond well to their soil completely drying out. Don't let this plant dry out too much, or a dormancy period will be activated.

Alocasias grow from corms, a swollen stem base similar to a bulb. A plant will produce its own corms in the dirt within its roots. It can start to grow new plants on its own from these corms sometimes. You can also collect the corms when repotting and pot them up on their own to start a new plant.

*Alocasias are mildly toxic to both humans and pets as all parts of the plant contain calcium oxalate crystals. We deem this plant safe for use with the above animals, but the more risk-averse may wish to avoid it
