I got banded crickets, they all came in in good health with food and moisture. They lived much much longer than the house crickets I have been getting. I highly recommend them!!!!

Great way to get crickets - Even in winter

Reviewed on January 12, 2025.

I started ordering Josh's Frogs crickets this past fall when the big box petstore (that I actually work at) raised their prices on their crickets. At that time, I was able to order the same number of crickets and it was actually about the same price, even with paying for shipping, and taking into account my employee discount! That is saying a lot! My crickets lasted longer from Josh's Frogs, and having them autoship was so easy. I didn't have to worry if the store would be sold out when I came to work. Now, with winter temps, the shipping is a little more expensive - but still very much well worth it. Yes, I could now purchase my crickets cheaper at my work, but the crickets there often arrive with half a shipment or more dead, due to the cold temperatures in the midwest. My guess is that they would not be as hardy, so I'd be either buying much smaller quantities, or having a lot of loss. I have been thoroughly impressed with the way my crickets have arrived during the cold temps. A recent delivery arrived on a day that it was only in the upper teens. I was thinking the day before that I should have gone in and cancelled this order (or checked to see if Josh's Frogs would pause an autoship order due to temperatures) since it was so cold. I expected to have significant deaths, and would have considered it my fault for not changing the shipping date. But in fact, they arrived, I immediately noticed the box was larger than usual, and that's because it was VERY well insulated with styrofoam and with a heat pack. The crickets were completely fine. I just recently used up the crickets from that order. I had less than 10 out of 120 ordered crickets dead in the container - after 2.5 weeks! I cannot recommend Josh's Frogs crickets enough. Their cricket prices are some of the best I've found, and the shipping charge is 100% worth every penny. You will be money ahead ordering here over any big chain petstores.

The crickets are perfect and apparently delicious

Reviewed on November 20, 2024.

I never thought in a million years I would be delighted to care for a bucket full of crickets. Being a helicopter parent, I had to know they would be perfect for my panther chameleon ArIstote • I heard stories about the noise and smell crickets make, and the fact that so many die so quickly. But I placed my order, and my banded crickets arrived ABSOLUTELY NONE of my concerns were realized. Josh's Fros' crickets arrived alive and healthy in a container with pieces of carrot to munch on. I emptied the cup of crickets into their new home and they disappeared into their egg carton condo. They were quiet and well behaved. When I checked on them later, some were drinking from the funny water jello I made out of crystals, and others were munching on the pieces of carrot and sweet potato served in a large lid. There was no smell. The next day, I put a few crickets in a zip lock and added the calcium powder. After a bit of shake-and-bake, I put them in a plastic cup and had them crawl out onto Aristotle's screen wall. What fun to watch mv chameleon hunt and catch breakfast. I truly enjoy keeping and caring for all of Josh's Frogs' insects that keep my chameleon happy and healthy. And none of them smell. Pleasant surprises all around. Thank you, Josh's Frogs.
