Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae are a great feeder for a wide variety of reptiles, amphibians, birds, and invertebrates. High in calcium, black soldier fly larvae are also known in the trade as Phoenix Worms, ReptiWorms, and CalciWorms. Each container of Black Soldier Fly Larvae - 50 count Large will contain at least 50 soldier fly larvae ready to feed out as soon as they arrive. Large Black Soldier Fly Larvae measure approximately 1/2" - 3/4", and make perfect feeders for bearded dragons, chameleons, leopard geckos, fat tail geckos, and many insectivorous invertebrates.
How to Feed: Feed soldier fly larvae with tongs, or in a dish. Be careful not to allow solder fly larvae to escape the dish - the larvae will burrow and pupate into adult flies. After they pupate, the larvae emerge as adult black soldier flies, which resemble small wasps. Even though they look intimidating, black soldier flies are harmless. Once the worms began to pupate (if they're not eaten by them), they'll turn black. At this stage, the larvae contain a LOT of calcium, and should be quickly fed to your pets.
How to Store: Soldier Fly Larvae can be kept at room temperature, but keeping them at 55-65F will keep them in the larval stage much longer. Remember, black soldier fly larvae can still be fed out after they pupate. Adult flies can also be fed out - chameleons in particular seem to love these!

Not a single dead larvae upon arrival. Very healthy and well packaged
There's usually more than what I order in the container. Some come dead or in the next stage of development so having more than what I ordered makes up for that. I like to get the next size up than what I think I need because they usually come a little smaller than what I wanted which is fine.
These BS fly larvae are the perfect size for my juvenile jumping spiders that refuse mealworms and fruit flies are not sustaining them as a food source. These are easy for the beginner hunter to stalk and pounce!
They all arrived alive. My lizards are kind of "meh" about them. They have to be in a certain mood. These are the first thing my new leopard gecko ate here, and come to think of it, they're the first thing my beardie ate here too. Now they're supers all the way. But they still take them a couple times a week. I am ordering more because I feel like a variety is important in their diet.
My cup was overflowing! The amount of worms far exceeded what i ordered! I always dump and count so I can get rid of some of the substrate to access the worms quicker! Thanks!
