2/3" crickets are perfect for lizards, many tree frogs, tarantulas, scorpions, leopard geckos, juvenile bearded dragons, and any other insectivore that requires smaller food. Get your crickets from Josh's Frogs!
Acheta domestica, commonly called the house cricket, is a great staple food item for your pet. Easy to keep, inexpensive, and full of nutritious vitamins and minerals when properly gutloaded and dusted, crickets will eagerly be eaten by your pet reptiles and amphibians.
Not sure which cricket size is right for you? A good rule of thumb is to ensure that the cricket is no longer than the distance between your pet's eyes when viewed from above. If you're not sure, err on the side of caution and choose a smaller size. Please keep in mind that crickets grow quickly - if it'll take you a few weeks to use all the crickets you order, they could easily be much larger than when they first arrived.
Josh's Frogs always recommends feeding your crickets with a quality cricket food for at least 48 hours before feeding them to your pet reptile or amphibian. Crickets will easily drown in a water dish. Instead, use fresh veggies or Josh's Frogs Insect Watering Gel. Not sure how to house your crickets while you're feeding them out to your pet? I prefer to order crickets from Josh's Frogs, rather than picking them up at the local pet store. They last longer, and fewer die - even though they are shipped!
