1/8" crickets are the smallest size of cricket we offer, and perfect for poison dart frogs, praying mantids, young tarantulas (aka slings), and any other insectivore that requires smaller food. Get your crickets from Josh's Frogs!
Acheta domestica, commonly called the house cricket, is a great staple food item for your pet. Easy to keep, inexpensive, and full of nutritious vitamins and minerals when properly gutloaded and dusted, crickets will eagerly be eaten by your pet reptiles and amphibians.
Not sure which cricket size is right for you? A good rule of thumb is to ensure that the cricket is no longer than the distance between your pet's eyes when viewed from above. If you're not sure, err on the side of caution and choose a smaller size. Please keep in mind that crickets grow quickly - if it'll take you a few weeks to use all the crickets you order, they could easily be much larger than when they first arrived.
Josh's Frogs always recommends feeding your crickets with a quality cricket food for at least 48 hours before feeding them to your pet reptile or amphibian. Crickets will easily drown in a water dish. Instead, use fresh veggies or Josh's Frogs Insect Watering Gel. Not sure how to house your crickets while you're feeding them out to your pet? The crickets themselves were fine, but the packaging left something to be desired. They were packed with an inch square unsecured food block that ended up crushing a lot of the tiny crickets. Josh made it right, however, and shipped me out a big batch of fruit flies next day to make up for it. The fruit flies lasted FAR longer than the crickets did, so even with the poor packaging (which had nothing to do with Josh, as the crickets are from an outside retailer) the service more than made up for it. I'd go with fruit flies over crickets this small again though.

The crickets are good, but the shipping packaging was not. I ordered 1000 and ended up with less than 200 due to crickets being crushed by a food block in the box. Josh made it right and shipped more the next day, but I'll be sticking to the larger crickets now.
