The Arcadia ShadeDweller 2.5% UV Lamp is the replacement lamp for the ShadeDweller ProT5 Max Kit. 

A standard output T5 lamp that draws just 14 Watts but is over twice as bright as our 8 Watt ShadeDweller lamp. This increase in brightness or ‘lumen output’ includes the whole spectrum of the lamp, even UV. As such, to hit the target UVI of 1.00-1.50 at 12”/30 to basking, this clever lamp only requires 2.5% UV-B within the total spectrum of the lamp.  

While a standard 8W ShadeDweller uses a 7% UV-B output to reach the desired UV Index, the ShadeDweller-Max is a significantly more powerful lamp across the entire light spectrum. Because the Max unit produces a much higher volume of total light, the UV-B percentage must be lowered to 2.5% to prevent the radiation from becoming too intense for the animal. Ultimately, even though the percentages look different on paper, the amount of usable UV energy reaching your pet at the target distance remains virtually the same between both models. 

ShadeDweller-Max is suitable for use with almost all species of snake within their own UVI requirements and distance to basking.
