These geckos are fairly easy to keep in captivity and are just as popular as crested geckos! In fact, they come from the same Island, New Caledonia.

Chahoua geckos have a lot of personality and come in the most expressive selection of greens, reds, and browns with unique patterning. They blend right into their surroundings, hence their common name, “Mossy Prehensile-tailed Gecko” or “Bavay’s Giant Gecko”. There are two known locales; The Pine Isles and Mainland. We breed both variations of this species here at Josh’s Frogs!
