Glass frogs are so named for their see through bellies - you can actually see their organs! These frogs tend to be on the smaller size, with most species topping out at about 1" or so in length. They are a bit more fragile than other tree frogs, but make amazing captives in naturalistic vivaria. The larval tadpole stage can last over 10 months, making most glass frog species difficult to produce in any significant quantity. Glass frogs have long been a "holy grail" frog species for many hobbyists.
