Now Accepting Applications for Josh's Frogs 2021 Amphibian Conservation Grants

Josh's Frogs is accepting applications from qualified candidates for our second annual Amphibian Conservation Grants from February 1st, 2021 through April 30, 2021! These grants are another way helps preserve survival of species in the wild. We strongly believe that it is possible to have a thriving pet trade AND thriving in-situ populations of the amphibians we love. 2020 was a heck of a year. In the spirit of pushing forward, we're increasing the available grants from 4 to 7, and the total grant money available from $2500 to $5500.

Projects Eligible for Funding in 2021:

• Projects involving in-situ conservation of amphibians
• Research involving field work that has a direct impact on amphibian conservation

Application shall be submitted HERE. In addition, please include 3 photographs that are representative or pertaining to your project.

If you are awarded an Amphibian Conservation Grant, you must agree to:

• Commit to a primary interview concerning what the grant money will be used for, and how it is aiding conservation. Interviews could be done via video, phone or email, and will be shared with Josh's Frogs employees and the public in general. Interviews will take place between May 8 – May 15, 2021.
• Commit to a follow up interview within six months of receiving the grant, discussing what your efforts have accomplished in the way of amphibian conservation. Interviews may be done via video, phone or email, and will be shared with Josh's Frogs employees and the public in general.
• Provide pictures and/or video footage of your project in action. We want to help you do what you do and help show the world - and inspire others!

Josh's Frogs will be choosing 7 applicants for grants. We will be partnering with the applicants to create blogs/videos to show members of the pet trade what you do/plan to do, and how it impacts wild populations of amphibians. Any information shared with us may be shared publicly. Ultimately, one $1,500 grant winner, two $1,000 grant winners, and four $500 grant winners will be chosen by public vote. The $1,500 grant winner will be provided with travel aide to present their project at a herpetocultural symposium, pandemic allowing.

Applications will be accepted through April 30, 2021. After that date, applicants will be contacted via email by May 31, 2021 to inform them of their status. We plan to have grants distribute by July 10, 2021.

Josh's Frogs 2021 Amphibian Conservation Grant Timeline:

• February 1st, 2021 – Josh's Frogs 2021 Amphibian Conservation Grant Application period opens
• April 30, 2021 – Application period closes
• May 1 – May 7, 2021 – Applications are reviewed, 7 are selected for further advancement
• May 8 – May 15, 2021 – Selected Applicants are interviewed
• May 16 – May 23, 2021 – Interviews and applicant information shared with Josh's Frogs audience and the public for input
• May 31, 2021 – Grant winners are contacted
• July 10, 2021 – Grants distributed
