Josh's Frogs 2025 Amphibian Conservation Grants

One of our 2024 grant winners is developing an innovative bioacoustic monitoring system to better track frog populations as indicators of ecosystem health. Learn more

November 13ᵗʰ update: We've extended the application deadline to December 2ⁿᵈ to allow qualified candidates more time to submit an application. If you know someone involved in amphibian research and conservation projects that could use funding, please point them to this blog! Apply here.

At Josh’s Frogs, our mission has always been to connect people with nature, and to do so responsibly. Our annual Amphibian Conservation Grant Program is one way to further that mission. We're very proud to bring it back for its sixth consecutive year, once again funded entirely by hobbyists like YOU!

These grants empower people and organizations to make a positive impact on the world's amphibians, whether by protecting them in the wild, advancing scientific understanding and captive-breeding efficacy, or building a more ethical and sustainable pet industry. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for the animals we love.

We'll keep this blog updated with information and news about our 2025 grants as the process unfolds. Stay tuned!

How it works

This year we have a total of $5,500 to give. Instead of using it all to fund a single project, we split the total into 7 different grants: 4 worth $500, 2 worth $1,000, and one worth $1,500. More grants means more opportunities to make a difference.

When our application period closes, we'll review all the applicants and choose up to 7 to receive grants based on our eligibility criteria (below). We'll then share these projects with the public and hold a vote to decide how the grants will be distributed. The projects with the most votes get the biggest grants!

Throughout the process we work with our grant recipients to foster public interest in their project and its impact on wild amphibians. Little frogs and toads may be easier to overlook than the so-called "charismatic" species (tigers, elephants, whales, and other big, bold animals), but they're every bit as important to their their native ecosystems and the delicate balance of nature, if not more. We'll do our part to get these creatures the attention they deserve!
